Did you know the average person consumes 4,500 calories / 229 grams of fat on Thanksgiving? And 3,500 calories = 1 pound of weight, so you could easily add an extra pound in just one day!
Your Personal Trainer is here and ready to show you how to avoid the typical Thanksgiving week weight gain and enjoy your holiday week!
Enjoying all the delicious foods on Thanksgiving is the best (and pecan pie is my favorite) but I don’t like to put on the extra weight that week. Here is what I do to avoid the typical holiday weight gain. I increase my workouts that week so I can enjoy my meal, while knowing that I am burning off those extra calories !
Here is a weekly workout designed just for you this holiday week to help you keep the extra weight off and still be able to enjoy turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pies, etc! So, let’s get started today. Every day this week is linked to a workout, so just hit the link below and follow along! Also every day, I have added a little “Thought for the Day”. Email me, as I would love to hear what your answers would be to these same questions!
Christie’s Thanksgiving Week Workout
Thankful: What are you thankful for?
Christie: I am thankful for my family, our health and for God’s abundant blessings on our lives!
Pumpkin: What is your favorite pumpkin recipe?
Christie: Not a pumpkin pie fan, but I do love my mom’s pumpkin bread, yummy!
Fall: Why do you love Fall?
Christie: Fall in Arizona is the awesome, because that means we survived another summer, LOL; but seriously I love Fall for football games, hockey season, snuggly weather, sweaters, jeans, fireplaces . . . I love the whole season but most of all for getting the family together for Thanksgiving!
Turkey: What is your favorite left over meal made with turkey?
Christie: A turkey (white meat only, I am not a dark meat girl) sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise!
Pie: What is your favorite pie?
Christie: Pecan pie I believe has the most calories and it is my all time favorite and it is Tom’s favorite pie too! A very close second favorite pie, is apple pie. A big thank you to my niece, Alyssa, who always makes such delicious pies at Thanksgiving for us!
Stuffing: Do you like stuffing?
Christie: Stuffing is one of those dishes you either love or hate for Thanksgiving. I love stuffing, but not when it’s cooked in the bird!
Stretch: Do you like to stretch? Do you stretch?
Christie: When I remember, I love stretching and lately I have gotten myself back into a great habit of stretching almost every day. A few months ago, I was out of the habit of stretching. Now, I take the time to stretch before leaving the gym and/or I leave a stretching strap on my floor at home as a gentle reminder!
